What are therapeutic massages (chiromassage)?
These are various manipulations and pressure techniques on reflex areas, made on the body surface with therapeutic purposes. For all those persons who suffer muscular, tendonous or ligamentous pain.

It is a highly effective technique against lumbagos, dorsal contractions, shoulder pains, cervical pains, etc. It was born from the combination of diverse traditional massage techniques, as the Swedish massage and the Chiropractice technique.

Summarizing, it is a modern and totally natural manual technique, without any intervention of instruments or devices nor any form of medication.

For whom is chiromassage interesting?
For all those interested persons who, without previous knowledge, wish to get acquainted in the techniques of therapeutic massage for professional, personal or familiar use.

For all those professionals who already have previous knowledge, and who wish to recycle them, or update them or perfectionate them in order to improve their situation within the labour sanitary world

What problems can be solved?
The therapeutic massage also handles practical aspects, being so specially indicated for solving efficiently contractions, tensions and muscular fatigue. Highly recommended for pain treatment on the body surface, not only of muscular origin but also on tendinous, ligamentous or articular origin. It calms muscular pain, improves circulation, relaxes the ligaments and tendons and the movements of the affected region.

Objectives of the seminar:

1- Basic level
For all those persons interested in therapeutic massage that have no previous experience or formation. It also grants the ideal platform for later specialization and formation at professional level.

Anatomy, physiology and pathology of the skin and conjunctive
tissue.
The skeletal system.
Bones physiology and anatomy.
Articular system. Cartilages and ligaments.
Muscle tissue. Muscle contraction.
Muscular biomechanics.
Tendons and muscle inserts.
Massage biophysics.
Massage effects.
Neuromuscular reflexes.
Pain. Characteristics and treatment.
Technical considerations when applying the massage.
Indications and contraindications of massage.
Massage in sports.
Correct position of the therapist.
Preparation for the massage
Basic movements and techniques
Application of basic techniques to the different body parts.

Length of course: 80 hours.

Successful completion of this diploma course will provide you with the title of “Massage Therapist “, and the knowledge and techniques needed to give a treatment.

2- Superior or professional level
For all those professionals who having concluded the initial level wish to deepen their knowledge. It is also addressed to those professionals who wish to recycle or update knowledges and techniques.

Learning specific techniques: Cyriax, stretching, criotherapy, digitpressure, energetic massage, shiatsu in chair.
Manipulation of the spinal column.
Techniques of palpatory revision in different body segments.

Trigger points, stretches, active mobilizations.

Sport physiology.

Competition massage, pre and post competition.

Length of course: 150 hours.

Successful completion of this diploma course will provide you with the title of “Professional Massage Therapist “, and the knowledge and techniques needed to give a treatment.
